Integrative Therapy Program

At the Gunnison Valley Hospital

The Wellbeing Connection entered into a collaboration with Gunnison Valley Hospital in 2016 & 2017 to develop an Integrative Therapy Program.

The program offers alternative/complimentary therapies to patients who are referred by medical practices or receiving care in other hospital departments. The intention of the Program is to open a dialogue between medical providers and the Program practitioners, encouraging a collaborative approach. We aim to serve patients comprehensively, in body, mind and spirit. Patients with chronic pain, anxiety, sleeplessness or any condition for which traditional medicine has little to offer, can benefit greatly by trying an alternative, complimentary therapy. Patients receiving chemotherapy or managing lifelong diseases are also encouraged to try any of the Program options. There is mounting evidence in medical literature about the relief of symptoms and reduction of stress with alternative treatments.

Currently the available therapies include acupuncture, massage, healing touch, Reiki, hypnotherapy and nutrition counseling.  All therapies are administered in our office, located inside GVH, near General Surgery.

The Integrative Therapy Practitioners are required to be fully credentialed in their chosen field, and will also pass a credentialing process through GVH, including reference checks and evaluations.

Massage therapists are also available on Mondays and Friday in the patient intake rooms, offering brief, calming neck and shoulder massage to patients as they await their surgery.
